Falling for the Light

Mundane Monday Challenge #24

Welcome to Mundane Monday Challenge.

This is a challenge created to find beauty in almost everything. The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs. And give me a pingback.

Anyone who comes across this post can take part in this challenge. And you are free to challenge or invite other bloggers who might be interested in finding beauty in those everyday things all around us.

  1. Hey Jithin,

How’s life on the open road treating you my friend?

Thought I nip across the miles and take a look at your latest piece of work. It’s a great shot, perfect combination of light and shade, and I like the implied suggestion of symmetry as well….somehow it feels balanced, although there is a natural tendency for the eye to be drawn more readily towards the light.

I have to admit I agree with ‘Sabiscuit’ and find the positioning of the litter bin somewhat curious…one would think there were a better place to position it and retain the beauty in the view.

Are you developing new themes around light and shade, or progressing ideas already started? Either would be of interest and i’ll look forward to seeing if where your work goes should you be exploring these ideas.

I meant to ask how the book sales were going? Have you had the volume of interest you may have anticipated, or has there been any interest shown by a publisher to carry its circulation further?

Hoping all is well and the miles are full of smiles 😀

    Take care. Namaste

    1. Hey Dewin.
Open road is treating me as usual with ups and downs.
Glad you liked the play of lights and shadows.
Well about the litter bin , I don’t manipulate an image most of the time. I try to click a scene as it is. One reason is that I am lazy to do the adjustments on the props around.
I am not particularly doing any themes around light and shade. I think I am more interested in long exposures/slow shutter photographs. I might work on them.
Books sales is going slow. I haven’t expected much. So all good. And no one found it very interesting to publish 😉

Hoping everything is fine with you too. 🙂

      1. Hey Jithin,

Ups and Downs are the rollercoaster of life…but it is the thrill of the ride that keeps your camera focused and your sight looking forward to the open road ahead.

Pleased to hear you are an-all-in-the-camera photographer and maintain the integrity of the original image. My comment on the litter bin was more to ask why the owners of that building hadn’t located it differently rather than suggesting it should have been moved before you took the shot 🙂 Low light photographer is a really technically demanding (a labour of love to craft) and takes careful balance, patience, and more patience all of which appear evident here in this image. I’d be most interested to see how you explore your ideas further along similar lines and where such a pursuit might take your work. 🙂

Sorry to hear the book sales are a little slow. Don’t lose heart Jithin, it is still early days yet. At the very least, should you ever feel inclined to press on with a new book, you now have experience in getting a book to market as a published author. That must assist you next time around in approaching a publisher?

Thanks for well wishes my friend 🙂 Keep smiling,a nd keep putting your best foot forward on every new road ahead 🙂

        1. Dewin,
Yes you are right. Ups and downs and the roller coaster ride are making life so much fun.

Yes, I am kind of purist in photography, but not always! Yes, I understood. They could have kept the bin somewhere else. But it was in the middle of two stairways. So a perfect place to keep as far as its purpose is concerned.
Well It low light but wasn’t very low light. I underexposed it to get the details of the windows.
Haha.. a new book?! It might happen after a long time. But not at present I guess. Yes, next time I will be more equipped with these experiences.
Hope your work is also going fine. And you should also think about writing down your thoughts a little longer than blog posts 😀

          1. Hey Jithin,

One day my friend we shall meet up and journey for a short while along a stretch of the same road. I’ve no doubt it’ll be an incredibly rewarding experience. I hope it’ll be sooner rather than later 🙂

Maybe I have already started to think of extending my comments further 😉

Thank you for being a good friend. I’m fortunate to have ‘met’ you here.

            Take care 🙂

          2. Yes, That would be a great experience to meet a far away friend and travel together for a while. I am also looking forward to it.
Thanks to you too for being such an inspiring friend. 🙂

          1. You need to investigate the law in your own country. A lawyer friend of mine who is also a street photographer has given me legal excerpts that indicate there are no publicity or personality rights in Australia, and there is no right to privacy that protects a person’s image apart from a few exceptions. Of course, I will remove images if requested.
